Meet Christine Stowe of Fireweed Learning

Welcome Christine to the Inspiring Women in business blog feature! You will all be truly inspired by her story and what she is doing today to help better the world!

Tell us a bit about yourself, what your business is and what services you offer.

I am an energetic, kind-hearted, compassionate soul,  born adventurer and have a childlike curiosity about everything which I bring into all I do. As a proud mother of one, I continue to grow by forming meaningful connections with all I meet and live my life on purpose practicing mind-body-soul alignment and operating from wholeness.

I am a certified kids and adult yoga instructor, reiki master, life coach and medical intuitive.  Using my life experience and acquired trainings I lead people into unexplored territory both in the physical and spiritual realms. Through much self-discovery I have learned that the greatest mysteries lie-within and view myself as Tour-Of-The-Soul Guide helping people traverse the human experience.

How did you start off on your entrepreneurial journey?

I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2011 which inspired me to try growing my own food in a garden. I discovered how much I loved it and so I enrolled in college to take Agriculture Management.  During school I did an internship on a mixed permaculture small scale farm and earned myself a scholarship to a Permaculture Design Certificate. This course for me highlighted the importance of taking a holistic approach to all things. I began creating vision boards for a collaborative community that I envisioned being centred around food production. As I continue to manifest that vision one layer at the time I fill in the space by working as a holistic healer.

Go back to your childhood and tell us what you envisioned for yourself as an adult.

As a child I spent my summers on the lake and was outside from dawn to dusk. I always wanted to be a veterinarian or a marine biologist…until I took high school chemistry, From a very young age people and animals seemed drawn to me and I to them. Nature, people, and animals are my three greatest loves to this day.

What are some of your biggest challenges?

Time management and financial resources are my two greatest challenges. As a parent and an entrepreneur I fulfill those roles while leaving no time or energy for me. Remembering to slow down and find joy outside of those two things is a constant struggle. Being self employed and a single income, accessing funding has proven to be challenging. I embrace the set-backs and delays and use the time to get innovative and stretch myself outside of the box on conventional means to start-up a business to the scale of my vision.

What does being successful in business mean to you?

Nurturing myself, my son and my community from a place of being and feeling whole.

Who has been your biggest support/cheerleader?

My dad passed away suddenly May of 2017 and unexpectedly left me a small inheritance. Although he isn’t here physically his energetic presence and financial contribution have drastically transformed my life. My mom and step-dad also support me in helping with my son and words of encouragement.

Do you have a favourite quote or saying?

Don’t just stand upon the shoreline and say you are satisfied, choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance that tide” – Garth Brooks or “very great change starts from very small conversations” – Margaret J Wheatley

Is there anyone in business who is an inspiration to you and why?

Samantha Orthlieb at Senses of The Soul. This farm is where I learned about the divine feminine, herbal medicine. Samantha is a single parent and runs a thriving clinic and risked everything to open a botanical plant sanctuary. Samantha’s conviction to her cause, married with her business sense, inspires me to the possibility of success despite adversity.

Can you tell us one interesting fact about yourself that most people don’t know or would never guess?

As someone who appear very extroverted and lights up a room I have inwardly battle with symptoms of depression and worthiness for years.  As I find my comfort zone in my own body it turns out I need a lot more silence in my life than anyone would have ever guessed, including me!

Where can we find you ? What are your social media platforms?

I have a website with a newsletter
